After several months off … I’m back home in La Ribera, Baja, and again online. So I’m re-starting the (somewhat) daily notes of my morning birdwatching trips including pictures that I took. Unfortunately my computer hard drive crashed and many addresses were lost. I reconstructed some old back up adress books and have tried to remember the old bird notes list. Before we begin this book, I wanted an easy way to show you what I mean by Bird Portrait Photography. I will show you seven photographs, detailing your step by step trip from your first sighting of a bird, then thru your 8X binoculars and then step by step to a extreme closeup portrait. A cautionary note for birders … the discussion that follows uses words like “mm equiv”, “zoom factor”. “resolution”, These words were written for the photographers, you will soon come to know these words, but for now ignore them … the photos explain themselves.

Day start clear and a warm 85 … today will be a really hot one. Had not been back to the coffee berry bush in a week and wanted to check if more birds were feeding there. There were birds but the bushes provide so much cover that not many photos.
